Algae are a natural source for thousands of interesting molecules. Many of these molecules are biologically active and can influence cellular biology processes. Our aim is to identify suitable algae species for production of commercially important molecules.

So far we have identified antibacterial algal extracts which help fish survive better when innoculated with pahogenic bacteria.

n  a separate research we identified seaweed extractions which mitigate the inflamatory responce of human skin tissue to UV irradiation or air pollution exposure.
